The 4th annual Motorcycle Road Racers Reunion (MRRR) will be held on Saturday August 25th, 2012 in conjunction with the Mopar CSBK Superbike Doubleheader Weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Several prominent racers and one sidecar team plus two mechanics/tuners will be featured as this year’s “Masters of Mosport” and take part in an autograph session during the lunch hour on Saturday August 25th. Race fans will be able to get a free signed copy of a special full colour poster that is being produced for the event.
This year’s list of Masters of Mosport participants include Art “The Dart” Robbins, Dave Lloyd, Jon Cornwell, the Mickey Mouse Racing Team of Jim Arnold, Steve Bond and Gord McKay as well as the sidecar team of Steve Rice and Dave Powell. For the first time in its 4 year history the Masters of Mosport will include mechanics with Frank Leitner and Gord Bush. Joining the Masters of Mosport participants will be special guest Jim Robinson, veteran TV and Film director who produced many of the Canadian Road Racing National TV shows from Mosport back in the 80’s and 90’s including rounds of the Superbike World Championship events held at the track.
In addition there will be a special display of classic racing motorcycles including Art Robbins Suzuki GS1000 and Jon Cornwell’s Suzuki GSXR-750 from the Bar Hodgson Collection.
Photographers Bill Petro and John Walker have put together an amazing photo display of motorcycle road racing photos that highlight some of the great moments in the history of Mosport , which has hosted an FIM Grand Prix and Formula 750 events as well as Superbike World Championship rounds and countless Canadian National events including the weekend’s Mopar CSBK Superbike Doubleheader.
The Motorcycle Road Racers Reunion is also for the first time to be partnering with the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. The Wall of Fame boards featuring all of the Honourable Members of the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame will be on display in the Motorcycle Road Racers Reunion area. In addition two helmets that have been donated by GP Bikes and have been autographed by various Hall of Fame Members will be on display. These helmets will be auctioned off on November 3rd at the 2012 Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Dinner in Montreal. Information on this year’s induction ceremony as well as tickets will be available for purchase on Saturday August 25th.
