Braden Ortt of Calgary AB took advantage of the Road America stage to demonstrate the ongoing determination and focus that has characterized his inaugural season in MotoAmerica Super Sport class grabbing a pair of top-ten finishes despite starting from a disappointing 13th place on the grid. Ortt who finished on the podium at series’ previous race at Virginia International Raceway in early May, took advantage of strong starts in both of the weekend’s races to finish 6th and 8th, ultimately sitting fourth in the season standings.
In the Liqui Moly Junior Cup, Quebec’s Alex Dumas endured a weekend of mixed fortunes. After extending his points lead with his third consecutive win on Saturday, a crash in the first lap of Sunday’s race left Dumas watching from the sidelines as rival Ashton Yates picked up the victory. Despite Sunday’s disappointing result, Dumas maintains a narrow two-point margin in the points standings heading into the next round at California’s Laguna Seca in three weeks time.
