BMW Steals the Show: K 1600 GT Voted “International Bike of the Year”
The BMW K 1600 GT has recently been voted “International Bike of the Year (IBOTY)” for 2011 by a jury of over 25 industry publications. The award, which was announced this week at the Brussels Motor Show, comes as no surprise to Inside Motorcycles following an exclusive meeting we had with Hendrik von Kuenheim in November, where stated that the K 1600 GT was one of BMW’s best selling motorcycles, and the German manufacturer having trouble keeping them in stock. Superbike Sampler
Following the final Superbike World Championship round of 2011 in Portimao, Portugal, newly crowned Canadian Superbike Champion Brett McCormick represented Inside Motorcycles at the official end-of-term test day at the Portimao Circuit. Fresh from racing a BMW in the SuperStock 1000 Cup the previous weekend, McCormick knew the track and, and in his third year test riding for IM, was comfortable pushing hard on some of the world’s best works racers. Parts Canada Backs McCormick in Europe
Parts Canada announced today their support for 2011 Canadian Superbike Champion Brett McCormick as he heads to Europe on the Effenbert Liberty Racing squad in 2012. The "Kid", who will the competing in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup aboard the all new Ducati 1199 Panigale, will be one of the first Canadian road racers in years to compete as a regular on the European circuit.
